Trick or Treat
I know I’m late with the Halloween post, but I finally uploaded the trick-or-treat photos. How cute is my youngest as a Candy Corn witch? She is on her best friend’s porch (she and her bff were born 11 days apart), which has been transformed into a haunted house.
The painting in front of her slides down to reveal the good witch, Tracey.
And then the front door pops open to show her scary husband, Paul.
Earlier, he had been wearing a creepy mask, but it was hot in Southern California this October 31st, and he had given it up by this time in the evening. Besides, he joked, having reached his mid forties, he feels almost as scary without the mask! No way, Paul!! Aren’t they cute to decorate their house to spook the little kids? It’s not scary enough to scare anyone over the age of about six, though.
Our neighborhood is so much fun on Halloween. We had a relatively slow year, but I’d say we still had close to 300 trick-or-treaters come through our cul-de-sac. My oldest wanted to be a vampire, but she couldn’t get the teeth to stick, no matter what we tried, so she threw together this cute nerd costume at the last minute.
How cute is her friend as a dead dolly? Love the neighborhood girls all setting out together!
We set up camp together at the end of the block with appetizers and beverages and a huge bowl of candy. The girls love getting to hand out goodies to the kids (and even adults) who come through.
Sadly, many people come in from miles around just for the good candy, but we also get a lot of friends and neighbors, and that makes it fun!!
I will post our grownup Halloween party pics soon!
