I can hardly believe this is my ten year old daughter. In a smidgen of makeup, a new dress and new shoes (the same size as mine!), she suddenly resembles too closely the teenager she will be all too soon. This weekend, Nick took Isabella and Sophia to the Daddy/Daughter dance at school. They were thrilled to go out to dinner beforehand, and he brought them both a wrist corsage. Isabella was completely calm about the entire thing. She picked a dress and shoes with ease, begged to wear lip gloss and a bit of eyeliner, brushed her hair–and she was ready to go.

It made me reflect on those dates which will soon be coming to the door for her. Never mind that. We will be locking her in the house until she’s 25!

  1. Wow, she looks older than 10!! You’re right, you can certainly see what kind of teenager she will be – a true beauty!! Daddy, get out your gun, LOL 😉

Sounds like your girls had a lovely time at the dance with their Dad. What a special memory for your girls. I love remembering those “dates” with my Dad (which we still do today!!!)

  2. She’s so beautiful!

  3. Wow she is stunning and certainly looks older than 10 in the photo. Oh she is at that tween stage, in btween being a teenager and not quite a young child. Corsage looks great.

  4. All the old stuff I wore as a child is coming back. Kinda scary and makes you feel old, but it looks great most of the time.
